Jason Brooks
Our Team
As Director of Engineering, Jason Brooks manages the engineering staff responsible for the planning, execution and completion of all SEA commissioning projects. His extensive technical experience in optimizing electrical and energy management control systems combined with his passion to mentor other engineers makes him ideal for this position.
Jason has been integral in conducting energy audits and providing commissioning services to grow SEA’s footprint across the private industry and most specifically in healthcare and education. He and his team is also experienced with the installation of testing equipment on multiple systems across all operational functions of a facility.
Jason was recently recognized by the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) as the Southeast Energy Engineer of the Year in 2019, and he and his team also received an ASHRAE 2020 Innovation and Technology Award for successfully applying innovative technologies in the areas of occupant comfort, indoor air quality and energy conservation at ADTRAN. You may have seen this work recently featured in the September 2020 ASHRAE Journal as the cover story.
Jason excels at serving his clients with integrity and mentoring his team with humility. He easily earns the trust of the clients he represents and respect from the team he leads. Jason believes in leaving no stone unturned and works to solve each individual challenge with excellence, instilling this same philosophy into the team he has built at SEA.
Jason began his career in the Army where he discovered his passion for mechanical engineering. After completing his service, Jason attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham where he earned his degree in Mechanical Engineering while working full time. He believes in the power of education – specifically in achieving the licenses and certifications needed to expand expertise and establish credibility. Not only is Jason a licensed Professional Engineer, he has also earned credentials as a Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Lighting Efficiency Professional (CLEP), Certified Building Commissioning Professional (CBCP), and Commissioning Authority (CxA).
Jason and his wife Mimi reside in Birmingham, Alabama with their fur babies: George, Albert, Booker and Frannie.
