Bill Gregg

Bill Gregg is SEA’s Sr. Director of Operations, providing the REM personnel with technical and program support.  He attended the University of South Florida in Tampa and earned a BS in Industrial Management and Systems Engineering.  Mr. Gregg is a Certified Energy Manager through the Association of Energy Engineers.

Mr. Gregg’s career over the last forty years includes four years in the US Air Force as a turbojet engine technician, twelve years with Florida Power & Light Company (FP&L) an electric utility, ten years with several energy services companies (ESCO) four years as the MacDill AFB Base Energy Manager for the US Air Force and two years as the Air Mobility Command and MacDill AFB REM. 

During Mr. Gregg’s years as an electrical utility engineer with Florida Power & Light Company he served as a Service Planner providing new electric service for new construction, as a Commercial & Industrial Energy Auditor performing energy audits on commercial and industrial customers and as a Major Account Manager of FP&L’s largest commercial and industrial accounts - Patrick AFB, Cape Canaveral AFS and Kennedy Space Center. Also, during this time with FP&L he worked on total quality management (TQM) team that won the Presidents Cup Award for providing high quality customer service.  This was in support of the company’s efforts in winning the Deming Award for Total Quality Management in 1989 – the first company outside of Japan to win the Award. 

Mr. Gregg also worked with several ESCOs as an Energy Engineer, Project Manager and Manager of Performance Assurance for M&V on ESPC projects. Mr. Gregg has performed lighting retrofits in large hospitals, multiple locations within Walt Disney World including the Disney Institute, the first energy efficient lighting retrofit inside the public portion “on stage” of Walt Disney World’s Hall Of Presidents. He has performed Base wide lighting retrofits and HVAC retrofits at May Port Naval Base and NAS Jacksonville.

Prior to joining SEA he was the MacDill AFB Energy Manager for four years.  During this time he developed and implemented a multi faceted Energy Savings Performance Contract (ESPC) replacing aging HVAC equipment, lighting retrofits, heat recovery from chillers to produce domestic hot water, upgrading DDC controls, installed an Energy Management Control System connecting over 120 buildings into a central monitoring location and water saving retrofits saving the Base more than $1.2 million annually.  Mr. Gregg also served over two years in a dual role as a REM for SEA with the US Air Force’s Air Mobility Command HQ and as the REM at MacDill Air Force Base.
