Tony Karwoski

Tony Karwoski is the Resource Efficiency Manager at Ft. George Meade, MD Army Garrison. This is the home of the National Security Agency and military intelligence gathering activities. With over 400 facilities under management by the Department of Public Works, the post is over 5400 acres, about the size of Chambersburg, PA.
Mr. Karwoski joined Sain Engineering Associates in January 2010. For the past twelve years, Tony has worked as the prime site representative for major hospital projects, sports facilities, large multi-use facilities, Federal laboratories and the Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD. He started his career with the Canadian Government developing energy efficient housing across Canada. He led the development of the first comprehensive energy code for manufactured housing and its implementation in factories across the U.S. He also worked on renovations of State Department overseas missions. He has used sustainable technologies such as vegetative roofs, geothermal systems, solar technologies and advanced thermal envelope technologies and has experience in LEED certification of new federal buildings. Tony has an undergraduate degree from Brown University and a master’s degree from the University of Virginia in architecture and engineering.
