Resource Efficiency Managers - REM
Sain Engineering Associates, Inc. (SEA) is seeking proven energy management professionals to work full-time on-site for multi-building campuses. We currently have several positions available in:
Essential Duties:
This position performs a wide spectrum of energy engineering functions working on various energy management projects, and in support of our nationwide Resource Efficiency Manager (REM) program. The primary focus areas will be: energy / water / resource efficiency project feasibility analysis, measurement & verification of savings, alternative financing project facilitation, supply-side cost reduction, energy awareness promotion, O&M efficiency enhancement, and new technology utilization, especially involving renewable energy sources.

Requirements:
Qualification requirements are: U.S. citizenship, BSME/EE (or similar engineering degree), at least 5 years direct experience in energy management of existing facilities, and demonstrated ability to achieve great energy efficiency results autonomously. Qualifications considered to be extra valuable are: energy management experience involving federal (especially military) facilities, Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification, LEED certified and/or Professional Engineering (PE) license.
Corporate Positions:
- Co-ops: At SEA, we are committed to furthering the knowledge and development of college students. We strive to achieve this through our co-op program. This position will provide business and administrative support to facilitate the planning of energy and water projects to achieve the sites conservation goals and save money. This position involves at least two (2), preferably three (3) consecutive semesters. Work assignments and travel vary depending on project availability. To be eligible for the co-op program a student must meet a 3.0 cumulative GPA in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Lighting Auditors/Specialists: This position performs interior and exterior lighting audits and analysis functions working on energy audit projects. This positions will focus on performing building interior and/or exterior lighting audits, identifying energy efficiency improvement alternatives that save energy and meet illuminations standards, assisting with savings calculations for lighting energy savings and maintenance impact and assisting with cost estimating for lighting retrofit or upgrade projects. 30-50% nationwide travel will be involved, possibly worldwide travel.
Qualifications requirements are: U.S citizenship, Associates degree or diploma in electrical technology or related field. Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word software is required. The Senior level auditor is required to have 3 years experience as well as being proficient in Microsoft Excel. Experience with lighting audits involving federal facilities is a plus.
- Energy Engineering / Energy Management Professionals (multiple positions): These mid level to senior-level positions will be based at our corporate office in Birmingham, AL. These positions perform a wide spectrum of energy engineering functions working on energy management projects. Primary focus areas will be: energy & water conservation, project feasibility analyses, measurement & verification of savings, energy awareness promotion, O&M evaluations and new technology evaluations especially involving renewable energy sources. Up to 30% nationwide travel will be involved, possibly including some worldwide travel.
Qualification requirements are: U.S. citizenship, BSME/EE (or similar engineering degree). The Senior Energy Engineer needs at least 10 years direct experience in energy management of existing facilities and demonstrated ability to develop energy efficiency projects autonomously. This position also requires a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification and Professional Engineering (PE) license. The Energy Engineer needs at least 2-3 years in the energy efficiency atmosphere. A Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification is highly preferred.
